Merry Christmas Master
Thank you for all the support and words of wisdom - sometimes appreciated and sometimes not. I must say that too much advice about "not forgetting to be happy" often tempts me to respond with a couple of my own favourite sayings, such as:
"Happiness isn't everything - it can't buy money." - "When you are old and poor - even the dogs in the street will piss on you" - "That light you see at the end of the tunnel is probably an oncoming train"
However, those sentiments are hardly in keeping with the season. So I am doing my best to follow your advice and, up to now, doing a pretty good job of it. As evidence of that, you only have to look at this Christmas card thing. I have very rarely received any Christmas cards and I have no mantelpiece to display them on if I did. Even if I had a mantelpiece and Christmas cards to display on it , I have no visitors to see them.
So rather than drown in self pity, I am writing Christmas cards to everyone I can think of and displaying them on my web site. The odds are that no one will see them anyway, but it keeps me busy and cheers me up somewhat to find that there are quite a few people - whom I would like to send a Christmas card to.
