Merry Christmas Al - to you and your "green friends"
No, I wasn't referring to your extraterrestrial friends. Congratulations on the film and the prizes. Let's see now, you have been talking (and, granted, making a film) about saving the environment for perhaps 15 years - and your latest coup is a $1.5 million prize. I have been trying to do something about it for 50 odd years now and the best I have been able to come up with (back in my "Spirit of the Bahamas" days) was an e mail from some "green group" saying "Sounds like a great idea - best of luck to you".
How do you do it? I guess, nearly being president doesn't hurt. I would really appreciate it if you would spread the word, among your friends, that we have a prototype boat sitting here (for nearly a year now) - which has taken a lifetime to create. We project, that this boat will be three times as fuel efficient and cost much less to manufacture than most competitive boats. I know your friends get all excited about a car that offers maybe a 15 % increase in fuel efficiency - so surely a 300% increase should be worth a little attention.
All that we are lacking, to demonstrate these capabilities, are a couple of engines and perhaps an anchor and a couple of other odds and ends. So how about it? Probably less than a day's operating expenses, for your plane, is all it will take to get this show on the road and save a couple of whales - or the planet - or our species or whatever.
Another plus, which would come along with the territory, is that, when you felt so inclined, you and your friends could hang out on our "Green Machine" - instead of on the usual resource guzzling mega yacht (See: Spirit of the Bahamas - Wake up and smell the oil). This would withhold some ammunition from O'reily, Hannity and that lot at Fox and it might be more fun than your standard mega yacht. At least, you wouldn't have to worry about tripping over the stewardess, as she is backing out of your stateroom on her hands and knees - smoothing out the carpet pile.
All the best for the New Year
