"Perfection", in porridge, not too hot, not too cold - in beds, not too soft, not too hard - just right. This is what we are aiming for with our cruises. By starting out with destinations, which are perfectly pristine natural paradises, we have already got one foot in the door. Our task then becomes
simply a matter of enabling our guests to interact, in an interesting and comfortabe manner, with these destinations and with each other - while detracting as little as possible from the natural perfection of our surroundings.
Clearly, constructing a multi million dollar resort complex, complete with Olympic size swimming pool, water slides, designer boutiques, a grand casino and a manicured golf course (besides being a tad outside our budget) would not fit this requirement. It is equally obvious that those, who consider the aforementioned a necessity for "The Perfect Escape", will probably not find our offering to their taste.
No doubt, there is a lot that can be said in favor of natural pristine environments. On the other hand, lying on a pristine beach, under the stars, in the arms of one's true love, with the waves gently lapping in the background --- and millions of mosquitoes tearing one's flesh to ribbons, is more conducive to dreams of, somehow, acquiring a tactical nuclear weapon than to visions of an earthly paradise.

Our goal is to ensure that our cruises, unlike the prior examples, will be just right - not too hot not to cold --- "Simply Perfect". In planning for
"The Perfect Escape", it would seem there is a delicate balance between, on the one hand, being pampered and coddled - and bored to death; and on the other hand, being excited and stimulated - and subjected to cruel and unusual punishment. We intend to strike that perfect balance.
Perfection, however, takes time and creating "The Perfect Escape" may take
about a lifetime - more or less. The designer / builder, of Grand Illusion and this web site group, is hopeful that it will turn out to be the latter.
One of the credos, followed in the design and construction of Grand Illusion, was "Perfectly Simple and Simply Perfect". Following this credo, has led to a boat which, we are confident, will perform it's design function very well.
We are also confident that following the same credo, in regard to the design and construction of our cruises, will, likewise, provide for a cruise which performs it's design function extremely well . As stated above, that design function is quite simply to provide "The Perfect Escape".
Naturally, with a goal this high, disappointment is probably inevitable. We are confident, however, that the setting we provide, like the setting of a dinner table, while not the direct cause, will provide the opportunity for an occasional encounter with a "Perfect Moment" in space and time.
Such moments can indeed add up to a "Perfect Day" and with a little luck, or a lot of luck, perfect days can add up to "The Perfect Escape". If we should fall short of this goal, from time to time, or even most of the time, it will not be for want of effort. If, on the other hand, the gods of fortune should smile on us occasionally, the rewards will more than make up for any previous disappointments.
