One way of classifying vessels (albeit not the usual one) is to divide them between Pleasure vessels and Other vessels. This classification can be described as follows:
Pleasure vessels: Any vessel designed and used primarily for directly providing pleasure.
Other vessels: Any vessel not designed and used primarily for directly providng pleasure.
It should be noted that all vessels (like all mankind's constuctions and endevours) are designed and used to indirectly provide pleasure - to some person or persons. Some of the not so obvious examples are: rocket launchers, torture devices, death camps and rap music.
Under the above classification system, some examples of vessel classifications are as follows:
Pleasure vessels:
surf boards, modern kayaks, sailing dinghies, sportfishing boats, racing boats, cruising boats, day charter boats, charter yachts, mega yachts, modern cruise ships.
All other vessels
traditional kayaks, coal barges, tugs, commericial fishing vessels, ferries, battle ships, traditional ocean liners.
Both lists go on and on and naturally, as in all classification systems, there is sure to be some blurring of the boundaries. However, I am sure you get the general drift.
The point of the above is to lay the groundwork for presenting our claim that:
Grand Illusion, Grand Illusion X.L. and other "Magic Carpet Catamarans" (hopefully to follow) have the potential to be among the best - if not the best "Pleasure vessels" in the world.
The criteria for making such a judgement must surely be :
Which vessels provide the most pleasure to the most people - at the lowest cost?
Based on this criteria, we think that we have good reason for making the above claim.
It clearly follows that, seeing as all purchases made, by anyone at any time, are (in the final analysis) for the purpose of obtaining pleasure, any business, utilizing a Magic Carpet Catamaran, has the potential to be very profitable indeed.
